Nano–Bio Interface of Molybdenum Disulfide for Biological Applications

The unique nano–bio interfacial phenomena play a crucial role in the biosafety and bioapplications of nanomaterials. As representative two-dimensional (2D) nanomaterial, molybdenum disulfide (MoS2) has shown great potential biological applications due to its low toxicity fascinating physicochemical properties. This review aims highlight interface MoS2 nanomaterials with major biomolecules implications their novel bioapplications. First, interactions amino acids, peptides, proteins, lipid membranes, nucleic as well associated protein detection, DNA sequencing, antimicrobial activities, wound-healing are introduced. Furthermore, facilitate broader biomedical applications, we extensively evaluated discussed strategies for functionalization through among variety macromolecules enhance biocompatibility. Overall, understanding interaction is significant biocompatibility biosafety, further provide guidance better future.
